A Sunflower’s Resilience

As the morning traffic flew down the highway, my mum drew our attention to the lone sunflower standing tall. Alongside the harsh concrete road, the gravel and dirt, there stood these bright yellow, cheerful flowers. We chatted about how beautiful it was despite the surroundings. The sunflower had taken no notice of where it was planted, it just kept its face to the sun, drank in its nutrients and grew, right there where it was planted. What a lesson on shining in place, on being the best I can be to bring His light anywhere I go.
